Tigers Basketball Announces Signee

Jeremiah Martin joins the Tigers program beginning with the 2015-16 season.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Jeremiah Martin, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound guard, signed a national letter of intent to at-tend the University of Memphis beginning in the fall of 2015, Tigers head coach Josh Pastner announced Wednesday.
"We're excited to have Jeremiah join the program," said Pastner. "We welcome him to the Tigers basketball family."

Compiled over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists in his four-year career at Mitchell High School ... Three-year starter for the Tigers ... Member of Mitchell High School squads that posted a combined four-year 106-31 record ... The Tigers reached the state tournament all four years (2011-15) ... Mitchell became the first Memphis area high school to play in four-straight state tournaments since White Station did so from 2008-11 ...
Mitchell High School played the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons at the Class AA level, before moving to Class A for the 2013-14 and 2014-15 campaigns ... Helped lead the Tigers to consecutive Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) Class A state championships in 2013-14 (30-7 record) and 2014-15 (30-6 record) ... Member of the first Memphis area high school team to win back-to-back state crowns since White Station did so in 2002-03 and 2003-04 ... As a freshman in 2011-12, the Tigers finished as the TSSAA Class AA state runner-up (23-10 record) ... The 2012-13 Tigers squad advanced to the state tournament quarterfinal round (23-8 rec-ord) ...
The 2014-15 TSSAA Division I Class A Mr. Basketball Award winner ... Also earned 2015 TSSAA Class A Tour-nament MVP honors ... Had 18 points and six rebounds in Mitchell's 69-39 win over Union City in the title game ... In his final prep season in 2014-15, averaged 19.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.1 steals ... Shot 43 percent from the floor, 37 percent from the three-point arc and 78 percent from the charity stripe ...
