- With tonight's win, Memphis evened the series with Connecticut at 3-3.
- Memphis defeated Connecticut on its first trip to Storrs, Conn., and now holds a 1-0 series leads in games played on Connecticut's campus.
- Tonight's game was the second the two programs played in the state of Connecticut. Last season, the two schools played at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn., and the Huskies won a thrilling 86-81 overtime contest.
- With the win tonight, Memphis' league record is 10-7. The Tigers have posted double-digit wins in league play the last 10 seasons (2005-06 to 2014-15).

- After being out-rebounded on the glass 41-27 in the first meeting Feb. 19, Memphis responded by out-rebounding the Huskies 40-34 tonight.
- Tonight was the second time this season that Memphis won and scored fewer than 60 points. The other win was a 57-55 victory at Tulane when Austin Nichols hit a right baseline jumper with :03.1 left. Tonight, Shaq Goodwin hit tonight's game-winner came from the right baseline with :08.1 on the clock.
- The Tigers recorded season lows from the FT line for both FTM (2) and FTA (2).
- Memphis was 6-of-16 from the three-point arc vs. Connecticut Thursday. It was the 485th-consecutive game in which the Tigers hit at least one three-pointer. The last time Memphis failed to hit a three-pointer was vs. Alabama in November of 2001.

- Trahson Burrell netted a season-best 22 points vs. Connecticut tonight. He also had season highs for FGM (9), FGA (19) and treys made (4).
- Trahson Burrell scored in double figures in back-to-back games since Dec. 23 and 31. He had 12 points vs. Tulsa Feb. 28 and a season-high 22 points tonight.
- Calvin Godfrey pulled down a season-high 10 rebounds tonight. He nearly missed a double-double with eight points. • Kedren Johnson grabbed a career-high nine boards tonight. He also scored 10 points.
- Kedren Johnson scored in double figures for a second-straight game (10 points tonight; 13 points vs. Tulsa Feb. 28). It was his fourth double-figure scoring contest in his last five games.
- Kedren Johnson handed out a season-high tying six assists tonight. He also had six assists vs. Connecticut in the Feb. 19 victory in Memphis.
- Kedren Johnson scored in double figures with 13 points tonight. It is his fifth double-figure scoring game in his last eight appearances.
