McGowen tied for ninth with 18 holes to play
Eithel McGowen is at one-under par through 36 holes of the UALR/First Tee Collegiate and the Tigers head into Tuesday's final round in third place at the 16-team tournament being held at Chenal Country Club's Bear Den Course.
Memphis heads into the final 18 holes just six strokes back of second-round leader Tulsa and four strokes behind host Arkansas-Little Rock. Just nine strokes separates Memphis from the next seven teams currently back of the Tigers.
Memphis shot a two-round 581 (290-291) on Monday.
Individually, McGowen shot a one-under par 71 during the opening round of the tournament before carding an even-par 72 during Monday's afternoon round.
Memphis' Lars Van Meijel and Thomas Perrot are both two-over par after 36 holes.
Memphis' Ben Pearson is the leading golfer playing as an individual after firing a one-under 71 Monday afternoon that moved him to even par (73-71-144) and into a tie for 11th in the overall individual standings.
Tulsa's Colton Staggs shot back-to-back 69s Monday and has a two-stroke lead over the tournament field.
Tuesday's final round begins with an 8 a.m. on the Bear Den Course (par 72, 7,100 yards).
