Memphis Places 13th at Valspar Collegiate

Lars Van Meijel shot a final round 69 to finish with a 54-hole score of 216 and lead Memphis to an individual 27th place finish at the Valspar Collegiate Tuesday at the Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City, Fla.
As a team, Memphis shot a final round 289 but finished at 13th, the same position the team started Tuesday morning. The Tigers' final score for three rounds of play was an 885.
Thomas Perrot shot an even-par 71 to finish with a 217 score and place 31st.
Florida State had three golfers finish at even par or below for their final round as the No. 2 Seminoles shot a final-round 281 and finish with an 835 team score, five strokes ahead of second round leader and No. 14-ranked LSU.
Texas A&M's Greg Yates shot a 67 for the third straight round to finish with a 201 and win the individual title by three strokes.
Memphis continues a busy stretch of the season playing next week at the UALR First Tee Classic in Little Rock, Ark. The 54-hole tournament will be played next Monday and Tuesday at Chenal Country Club.
