Memphis out-rebounded Temple by a 45-36 margin. The Tigers now are 12-4 when out-rebounding their opponent.
The Memphis defense held Temple to 33.3 percent shooting from the floor. The Tigers now are 11-1 when they hold their opponents to under 40 percent from the field.
The Tigers had 15 turnovers today vs. Temple. Memphis had 19 turnovers combined in its last three games vs. East Carolina, No. 3/3 Gonzaga and Jacksonville State.

  Players Notes

Shaq Goodwin grabbed a career-high 23 rebounds vs. Temple today. The 23 boards are the most by a Tiger in a game since John Washington had 24 rebounds vs. Samford Dec. 12, 1973 (101-69 Memphis win).
Shaq Goodwin’s previous career rebound high was 12 boards.
Austin Nichols suffered a sprained ankle with 7:10 left in the game. He will undergo an MRI within the next two days.
Before his injury, Austin Nichols scored 17 points for his 19th double-figure scoring game of the season. It is his 16th double-digit performance in last 17 games, including six straight.
Kedren Johnson netted double figures for his second-straight contest with 11 points vs. Temple. He has four double-figure scoring performances this season – all in conference play.
Austin Nichols had six blocked shots today and now has 119 for his career and 77 for the season. His 77 blocks move him into the top-10 on the Tigers’ season blocked shots chart at the No. 8 spot. Up next for Nichols is Joey Dorsey, who had 81 blocks in 2006-07.
