Memphis Announces Future Football Series

Series with Mississippi State headlines future game additions
The University of Memphis announced on Thursday future nonconference football series with Mississippi State, Louisiana-Monroe and Texas-San Antonio. It was also announced the Tigers will play FCS opponent Southern Illinois in 2017, completing nonconference schedules for the next two seasons.
The Mississippi State series will be played during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. Memphis will play host to the Bulldogs at the Liberty Bowl on Sept. 18, 2021. The following year the Tigers will travel to Starkville, Miss, for a road game set for Sept. 24, 2022.
The Louisiana-Monroe series begins with a Memphis home game on Sept. 2, 2017. The Tigers will travel to ULM on Sept. 28, 2019.
The UTSA series begins in Memphis on Sept. 26, 2020. The Tigers will play in San Antonio on Sept. 25, 2021.
Memphis had earlier announced a series against Southeastern Conference member Missouri. The UofM will play at Missouri in 2018 (Oct. 20) with Mizzou returning to play the Tigers in the Liberty Bowl in 2023 (Sept. 23).
With Wednesday's announcements, Memphis is now scheduled to play seven home games both in 2016 and 2017.
Memphis' 2016 schedule includes home dates with Southeast Missouri (Sept. 3), Kansas (Sept. 17) and Bowling Green State (Sept. 24), along with a road game at Ole Miss (Oct. 1).
The announcement of the Louisiana-Monroe series and the Southern Illinois game (Sept. 23) completes the nonconference schedule for 2017. The Tigers will also play host to UCLA (Sept. 16) and travel to Georgia State (Nov. 18) in 2017.
In addition to nonconference games, Memphis upcoming schedules includes eight American Athletic Conference games (four at home and four on the road).
