Lady Tigers finish second at 38th Annual Pat Bradley Invitational.
SARASOTA, Fla. – Junior women's golfer Leighann Cabush captured her second career title at the 38th Annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational on Tuesday at the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club. Cabush carded a third round 73 (+1) to hold on for a one-stroke win with a 215. It's Cabush's second career individual title and is her third top five finish this fall. She won her first collegiate title at the South Alabama Invitational in her freshman season in 2013.
As a team, Memphis finished second to tournament champions Toledo. Memphis carded a third round 295 for a team total of 884, five strokes behind Toledo's winning 879 score. Memphis finished seven strokes ahead of tournament host FIU. This is the third top five finish of four fall events for Memphis, and is the second tournament of the fall where a Lady Tiger has grabbed individual medalist honors.
Sophomore Megan Beane recorded her best career finish at the event, finishing tied for 8th with a three-round total of 222. She matched Monday's 73 (+1) to finish in a three-way tie in her first career top 10 finish.
Freshman Madison Thomas, who won the Lady Tigers' first fall event, added another top 20 career finish with a third round 73, her best round of the tournament, to finish with a 225, good enough for a tie for 17th.
Teammates Emily Goldenstein and Sydney Colwill finished in a four-way tie for 31st at 228. Both carded third round 76 (+4) scores to finish in the tie.
Andrea Cropper also matched her second round score from Monday while competing as an individual, finishing with an 80 to finish in a tie for 45th with a 234.
Memphis is now done with competition for the fall and will turn to completing the fall semester of classes before December finals. The Lady Tigers will be back on the course in competition in February, starting at the Amelia Island Collegiate back in Florida, Feb. 22-23rd.
