- With tonight’s loss to SMU, Memphis now leads the all-time series 12-5.
- The series is tied at 4-all in games played in Dallas. SMU has won three of the last four meetings in Dallas.

- With tonight’s loss, Memphis lost back-to-back game for the first time since near the start of the 2012-13 season. The last time the Tigers dropped consecutive games was to VCU and Minnesota at the Battle 4 Atlantis (Nov. 22-23, 2012) – a stretch of 80 games ago.
- Memphis now is 43-5 following a loss under head coach Josh Pastner (.896 winning percentage).
- Memphis’ consecutive conference losses are the first since the Tigers dropped back-to-back league games near the end of the 2010-11 season (at UTEP, at East Carolina) – a stretch of 124 games.
- Tonight’s loss dropped Memphis below .500 in conference play for the first time since the start of the 2003-04 league season (Conference USA). The Tigers started that C-USA campaign 0-2 with losses to Southern Miss and DePaul – a span of 365 total games and 174 conference games ago.
- The Tigers were out-rebounded by SMU 38-22 tonight. It was the most Memphis had been out-rebounded this season.
- Memphis’ 21 points in the first half was its lowest offensive output before halftime this season. The Tigers’ previous first-half low was 22 points in the season opener versus Wichita State.
- Memphis was 5-of-15 from the three-point arc vs. SMU. It was the 469th-consecutive game in which the Tigers hit at least one three-pointer. The last time Memphis failed to hit a three-pointer was vs. Alabama in November of 2001.

- D’Marnier Cunningham netted a season-high 10 points tonight. His previous season best was seven points versus Western Illinois.
- Chris Hawkins scored a season-high nine points tonight. He also tied a season best with seven rebounds.
- Markel Crawford dished out a season-high four assists. He also tied a season-best with nine points.
- Austin Nichols scored 11 points tonight. It was his eighth-straight, double-figure scoring game. He has netted double figures in 10 of last 11 games.
- Austin Nichols blocked three shots today. It is his 12th multi-block game of the season and the 24th of his career.
- Austin Nichols now has 49 blocks this season (14 games). He had 42 blocks last season (34 games).
- Nick King dressed tonight, but did not play. King missed his third-straight game as the result of suffering a sprained ankle in the Tigers’ Dec. 30 practice.
- Austin Nichols started his 48th-straight game Thursday.
