- With today’s win over Houston, Memphis now leads the all-time series 30-13.
- Memphis swept the regular-season series over Houston. The Tigers won 73-54 at FedExForum Dec. 31, 2014.
- In games played in the city of Houston, Memphis holds an 11-6 series lead.
- Memphis held Houston to 44 points today. It is the Cougars fewest points in a game with Memphis in the 43-game series. The previous fewest points by Houston were 48 in a 64-48 loss in 2003-04 (Jan. 24, 2004).

- With today’s win, Memphis avoided its first three-game losing streak since near the end of the 2004-05 regular season. That campaign, the Tigers dropped four straight under then head coach John Calipari to close the regular season.
- Memphis now is 44-5 following a loss under head coach Josh Pastner (.898 winning percentage).
- The Tigers held Houston to under 50 points today. It is the third time this season that Memphis held an opponent to under 50 points.
- Memphis held Houston to 44 points today. The last time a Tigers’ opponent netted fewer than 44 points was the 2010-11 season opener. Memphis defeated Centenary 104-40 in that game on Nov. 12, 2010.

- Kedren Johnson played 17 minutes in today’s win, the most since Dec. 6 vs. Bradley (26 minutes). He had 10 points, two rebounds, four assists and two steals.
- Markel Crawford scored a season-high 12 points today. He hit a season-best four FG.
- Austin Nichols scored 16 points today. It was his ninth-straight, double-figure scoring game. He has netted double figures in 11 of last 12 games.
- Austin Nichols blocked four shots today. It is his 13th multi-block game of the season and the 25th of his career.
- Austin Nichols now has 53 blocks this season (15 games). He had 42 blocks last season (34 games).
- Nick King played for the first time today since Dec. 23. He sprained his ankle in a Dec. 30 practice and missed the Tigers’ Dec. 31, Jan. 3 and Jan. 8 games.
