Tigers Wrap Up Play at Inverness Intercollegiate

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Memphis men's golf team wrapped up its final round of action at the Inverness Intercollegiate Tournament in Toledo on Monday. The Tigers fired a 298 for a +14 round on the final day of action and finished with a 309-316-298--923 (+71) to conclude the tournament. Overall the Blue and Gray finished 11th at the prestigious golf course.
"Today was a good bounce back day from yesterday," head coach Blake Smart said. "Everyone had a chance to do something good today. There is no doubt that we have a lot of improvement to make if we are going to achieve our goals."
Senior Cory Gaylord shot a team-best 73 on the final day and all Tigers finished within six strokes of each other. Overall, junior Florian Loutre (76-82-74) and sophomore Lars Van Meijel (76-81-75) finished tied for 33rd after posting a final score of 232. Sophomore Eithel McGowen (79-78-76) finished a stroke behind at 233 and Gaylord (78-83-73) finished with a 234. Junior John Luke Tyner (82-75-79) concluded the team score with a 236.
East Tennessee State University claimed the team title with a +26 score and Adrian Meronk of ETSU finished even for the tournament to medal.
