- Tonight’s contest between Memphis and Oklahoma State was the eighth all-time meeting between the two programs. With their win, the Cowboys lead the series 5-3.
- The two programs met twice in 2013-14, with the teams splitting the games. Oklahoma State won 101-80 in Stillwater, Okla., Nov. 19, 2013. Memphis won 73-68 in the 2013 Old Spice Classic championship game in Orlando, Fla., Dec. 1, 2013.
- The Tigers are now 37-20 vs. the Big 12 Conference.

- Despite tonight’s loss, the Tigers are still 179-23 all time at FedExForum. The 179 homecourt wins are the most at the NCAA Division I level since 2004-05.
- Memphis was 3-for-14 from the three-point arc tonight vs. Oklahoma State. It was the 462nd-consecutive game in which the Tigers hit at least one three-pointer. The last time Memphis failed to hit a three-pointer was vs. Alabama in November of 2001.
- Tonight was the first contest that Memphis lost in which it won the rebounding battle. The Tigers out-rebounded Oklahoma State 41-28. The other three games the Tigers were out-rebounded were losses to Wichita State, Baylor and Stephen F. Austin.
- Memphis is under .500 after seven games for the first time since 2000-01. That season, Memphis’ record after seven games was 2-5.

- Austin Nichols grabbed 13 boards tonight vs. Oklahoma State for the second double-figure rebounding game of his career. It is also the 16th time Nichols has had five or more rebounds in a game.
- Austin Nichols’ 13 boards were a career best. His previous career high was 12 rebounds vs. Temple last season.
- Austin Nichols second double-double of his career and first this season with 11 points and 13 rebounds
- Trahson Burrell posted his fourth double-figure scoring game of the season 13 points. He also tied his career high with nine rebounds.
- Kuran Iverson netted 13 points tonight for the second double-figure scoring game of his career.
