Series Notes
• Saturday's meeting marked the 43rd meeting between the rivals. Saturday's matchup also marked the first game in the third annual Bartow Classic that benefits the Coach Gene Bartow Fund for Cancer Research at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.
• Memphis leads the series 33-10, carries a 23-7 advantage in C-USA games against the Blazers and has won 12-straight in the series. The last five matchups have been decided by five or fewer points.
• Saturday's game marked the first time since 2005 that the C-USA regular season champion and tournament champion played in the league opener the following season.

• Tigers improved to 13-4 in C-USA openers, including wins in eight-straight. Saturday's game was the fourth league opener on the road and Memphis improves to 3-1 in those games.
• Memphis improves to 7-1 all-time in C-USA road openers.
• Memphis shot 52.2 percent (12-of-23) from the floor in the first half, the sixth time this season the Tigers have shot 50 percent or better in the first half.
• Memphis connected on 57.1 percent (12-of-21) of its shots in the second half, the 10th time this season the Tigers have shot above 50 percent in the second half.
• The U of M held UAB to 27.3 percent (6-of-22) in the second half, the third time this season an opponent shot less than 30 percent in the second half.
• Tigers improved to 8-0 when opponents shoot less than 40 percent for the game. UAB finished 18-of-46 (39.1 percent).
• The Tigers had 11 blocks in the game, the third time this season that the U of M recorded double-digit blocks. The 11 blocks recorded also mark the third time in the last four games the Tigers reached the double-digit threshold.
• Will Barton scored 16 points marking the 10th-straight game that he has scored in double figures. On the year, Barton has scored double figures in 13 of 15 games. Barton also collected 10 rebounds for his eighth double-double of the season.
• Ferrakohn Hall fouled out with 9:07 left in regulation.
