Christabel Oduro Earns National Accolade

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis sophomore forward Christabel Oduro picked up another weekly accolade on Wednesday as she was named to the Soccer America Team of the Week.
Oduro, who was named Conference USA Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, opened C-USA play with three points. The Brampton, Ontario, Canada native assisted on Memphis' first goal in the 2-1 win at Houston and scored the game-winner at Rice on Sunday. With the goal, Oduro captured her second game-winner on the season and leads the Lady Tigers with five goals. Oduro had eight shots on the weekend, putting five of eight on frame for a .625 shot percentage.
With the two victories over the weekend, No. 6 Memphis improved to 10-0-0 (2-0-0 C-USA) on the season, a program-best start and longest winning streak. The national accolade gives the Lady Tigers a second on the season (Lizzy Simonin- Aug. 24) and sixth in program history.
Memphis closes a five-game road trip this weekend with matches at Marshall (2-7-1, 0-2-0 C-USA) on Friday at 6 p.m. (CT) and East Carolina (5-3-1, 0-2-0 C-USA) on Sunday at 1 p.m. (CT). The Lady Tigers return to Mike Rose Soccer Complex on Oct. 7 to host SMU.
