• Saturday's meeting between the two schools was the first since the 2005 C-USA Tournament Quarterfinal when Memphis beat Charlotte 83-69.
• Memphis leads the all-time series 8-6 after Saturday's 67-58 win.

Game Notes
• Memphis recorded 10 first half blocks and finished with 13 marking the first time since the Southern Miss (Feb. 12) and UAB (Feb. 16) games in 2011 that the U of M has recorded double-digit blocks in back-to-back games. The 13 blocks, also recorded against Robert Morris on Thursday, are the third-most in single-game history.
• The Tigers held an opponent to less than 25 percent from the field in the first half for the second consecutive games as the 49ers shot 7-for-31 (22.6) from the field. Robert Morris shot 6-for-31 from the field (19.4 percent) in the first half on Thursday.
• Memphis held an opponent to 30 percent or less from the field in both halves, marking the eighth time this season an opponent has shot below 30 percent in a half.
• The Tigers are now 8-3 all-time in games played on New Year's Eve and earn their first win on the date for the first time since the U of M topped Northeastern 80-48 in the 2008-09 campaign.
• Memphis improves to 13-3 over the last 15 seasons in the final game of the calendar year.
• Will Barton scored 12 points marking the eighth straight game that he has scored in double figures. On the year, Barton has scored double figures in 11 of 13 games.
