Tiger Golf Ready for 25th Annual Louisiana Classics

MEMPHIS, Tenn.—The University of Memphis golf travels to Lafayette, La. to compete in the Louisiana Classics Monday and Tuesday. The event is hosted by the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and held at the Oakbourne Country Club (Par 72; 7,141 yards).
A total of 15 teams are in the field this week: Colorado, Houston, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, LSU, Memphis, SMU, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Miss, Texas State, Tulsa, UAB, UALR, and UNO.
The Tigers posted rounds of 297-285-294 and finished eighth in the event last season. Memphis was led by Jordan Payne and Brad Benjamin, who both turned in three-round totals of 219 and tied for 21st position.
Memphis finished eighth in its last event at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate. The Tigers were led by Jonathan Fly’s three-round total of 220 that earned him a share of 14th place individually. Memphis carded team scores of 291-291-305 and finished 10 strokes behind champion Ole Miss.
The Louisiana Classics tee off Monday morning at 7:30 am (CT) with a shotgun start.
