This is Gonzaga's second win in the series, their first since Nov. 16, 1998. Memphis lead the series all-time against the Bulldogs 4-2
Wesley Witherspoon had 26 points on Saturday afternoon. The sophomore had 55 points for the Tigers in the last two games, after tallying a career-high 29 points against UAB. Witherspoon has scored over 20 points on four occasions this season. He has tallied in double-figures in 11 of the last 16 games
Angel Garcia made his first appearance as a Memphis Tiger on Saturday, The sophomore was expected to miss the 2009-10 season due to an ACL tear suffered prior to the start of the season but made a quick recovery. Garcia had to sit out the 2008-09 season due to NCAA Clearinghouse issues
