Wednesday night's victory over the UCF Knights is the 1,400th victory in the history of Memphis Tiger basketball. The win is also Memphis' 170th win in Conference USA
The Tigers staved off back-to-back losses once again on Wednesday night after falling to No. 17/13 Gonzaga on Saturday night. Memphis has not lost back-to-back games since losing four-straight from Feb. 23 through March 5, 2005
Drew Barham made his first career start on Wednesday night. The Memphis freshman came into the game averaging 4.7 minutes per contest
Angel Garcia tallied his first career points on a three-point play at the 8:24 mark in the first half on Wednesday. The sophomore made his first appearance as a Tiger on Saturday against Gonzaga. Garcia sat the first 23 games because of an ACL tear he suffered prior to the start of the season. He missed the 2008-09 season due to NCAA Clearinghouse issues
Wesley Witherspoon has tallied double-figure points in 12 of the last 16 games
The Tigers out-rebounded UCF 34 to 19, despite the loss of post player Pierre Henderson-Niles earlier this week. Memphis had only outrebounded two C-USA opponents coming into Wednesday's game (Marshall and East Carolina). The Tigers had 13 to 4 UCF offensive rebounds
UCF finished the game shooting 53.1-percent from the field. The Tigers have only allowed four opponents to shoot 50-percent or better from the field this season. Memphis is 1-3 games that they allowed their opponent to shoot 50-percent or over, Wednesday night's victory over UCF is the first time they have picked up the win (UCF, UTEP, Syracuse, UMass)
Memphis had five players tally double-figure scoring against UCF (Willie Kemp, Wesley Witherspoon, Elliot Williams, Roburt Sallie and Doneal Mack). This is the fourth time this season five players have scored in double figures for Memphis (Houston, Houston Baptist, SEMO, UCF)
D.J. Stephens tallied a career-high seven rebounds against UCF
