Calipari Basketball School Dates Set For Summer

Registration is open for the 2008 John Calipari Basketball School, and there are four sessions offered to youth for the upcoming summer. University of Memphis basketball has three camps slated for the month of June, and one in late July just before the start of the 2008-09 school year.
All four sessions are day camps. The first basketball school session - Spring Into Hoops - is slated for June 2-5, followed by the Mike Miller Shooting Camp scheduled for June 9-11. The third June camp - Serious Skills Session - will be held June 23-26, while the basketball school's Jump Into July camp is slated for July 28-31.

Spring Into Hoops
Dates: June 2-5
Time: 9 am-4 pm daily
Cost: $200
Ages: 7-18 (campers will work and play with others of appropriate age/talent)
Young hoopsters can get a jump on the summer with the finest teaching and coaching in the country at this first session of the 2008 John Calipari Basketball School. The saying that practice makes perfect is true - only in practicing perfectly does practice make perfect. In this session, campers will learn to "work out" in a way that will make practice efficient and fun. With new training concepts, this will be the best way for basketball enthusiasts to start the summer.
Mike Miller Sizzling Shooting Camp
Dates: June 9-11
Time: 9 am-4 pm daily
Cost: $200
Ages: 7-18 (campers will work and play with others of appropriate age/talent)
The game of basketball requires the ball to go through the hoop in order to score. Shooting the basketball is perhaps the most important skill that a young player can develop. That is why John Calipari and his staff bring in one of the best shooters in the NBA to help teach the art of shooting the ball. One of the NBA premier marksmen, Grizzlies' superstar shooter Mike Miller will be actively teaching and assisting every day of this camp session. Mike will share his secrets that helped him earn the 2000 NBA Rookie of the Year award and 2006 Sixth Man of the Year honor, and lead all guards in the NBA in field goal percentage during the 2004-05 season.
Serious Skills Session
Dates: June 23-26
Time: Check 9 am-4 pm daily
Cost: $200
Ages: 7-18 (campers will work and play with others of appropriate age/talent)
This Serious Skills Session promises to be a week to remember. Combining some of the country's best coaches with the University of Memphis' enthusiastic staff, campers will enjoy focused attention and also have ample opportunity to sharpen all skills from ball handling to boxing out on rebounds. With the unique format, campers will be challenged and coached to achieve their best.
Jump Into July
Dates: July 28-31
Time: 9 am-4 pm daily
Cost: $200
Ages: 7-18 (campers will work and play with others of appropriate age/talent)
This session will be dedicated to helping every camper have a tremendous amount of fun in learning new techniques, improving their skills, playing exciting games and much more. With a high-octane daily schedule and fired-up coaches, this week promises to positively impact every camper.
