• Captains for Memphis were seniors Jake Kasser, Andy Smith and Joseph Doss.
• Backup quarterback Will Hudgens registered his first career rushing touchdown when he pushed the pile for a one-yard score with 12:54 left in the second quarter. The Tigers used a dual-QB attack in today's game, using Hudgens several times for ground yardage. He finished the day with six carries for 21 yards.
• Matt Reagan connected on a 32-yard field goal to put the Tigers ahead 10-3 with 4:08 left in the second quarter. Reagan is 5-of-7 this season from 30-39 yards (includes the 38-yard field in the fourth quarter).
• Duke Calhoun extended his receiving streak to 22 games with a 70-yard reception in the second quarter. The 70-yard play was a career-long for Calhoun who has caught a pass in each of the 22 career games the sophomore from Memphis has played in. The Tigers had to settle for a 21-yard field goal to give Memphis the 13-3 lead with :18 remaining in the first half. Calhoun finished the day with four receptions for a career-high 159 yards and has caught multiple passes in 19 of his 22 career games.
• Sophomore Matt Reagan gave Memphis a 13-3 advantage with a 21-yard field goal with 18 seconds remaining in the first half. Reagan has hit multiple field goals in four games this season, and is 8-of-9 from 20-29 yards (includes the 24-yard make in the third quarter).
• Memphis logged a 99-yard, five play drive in the third quarter to mark the longest drive of the season for the Tigers. Earlier in the first quarter, Memphis registered a 97-yard drive and then totaled an 82-yard drive in the second quarter that marked the 16th drive that the Tigers have registered for 80 or more yards this season. Memphis has capped 14 of those drives with touchdowns.
• Carlos Singleton caught a 45-yard touchdown in the second quarter to extend his receiving streak to 19 games. Singleton finished the day with two catches for 57 yards.
• Defensive end Corey Mills picked off Sam Hunt at the Memphis 34-yard line and made a nine yard return for his first career interception.
• Matt Reagan hit his third field goal of the game, a 24 yarder, to give Memphis a 16-3 advantage with 5:38 remaining in the third quarter. Reagan has hit three field goals three times this season; and five times in his career. He set a new season high with his 38-yard field goal with 4:00 remaining in the game as it was his fourth field goal made of the night. It is the first time ever that Reagan has hit four FGs in a single game.
• Duke Calhoun registered his third-straight 100-yard receiving game with four catches for a career-high 159 yards. Calhoun has registered 100-plus yards in the last three straight contests and in four games this season. He now holds the school record for career 100-yard receiving games with seven. Calhoun surpassed Earnest Gray who tallied six 100-yard games in 1977-78.
• Joseph Doss rushed 20 yards for a score in the fourth quarter and finished the day with 19 carries for 168 yards. It was his second 100-yard game of the season; the fifth of his career.
• This is the second game this season that Memphis has registered a 100-yard receiver and 100-yard rusher in the same game. The other time was against Rice and the players were again Calhoun and Doss.
• With his 159-yards receiving today, Duke Calhoun totals 784 receiving yards this season, which ranks third in single-season receiving yards. He also is now ranked eighth in career yards with 1,466 and 11th in career receptions with 94. The 159 yards ties for fifth all-time in a single game and is the most since Richie Floyd had 172 yards against Tulane in 1996.
• Martin Hankins, who has passed for more than 300 yards in the last four straight games, just missed 300 with his 298 yards today. He completed 14 of 26 passes and did not throw an interception in the Tigers' first win over UAB since 1999.
• This is the first game this season that the Tigers have not had a passing touchdown. The last time that Memphis did not have a passing TD was in the 2006 season finale against UTEP. In that game, Memphis scored five TDs from the run. This is also the fourth game this season that Memphis has scored multiple touchdowns from the run.
• Brandon Patterson intercepted a Sam Hunt pass with 2:18 remaining in the game to end a UAB drive that started on their own 22-yard-line. It was Patterson's eighth career interception and his third on the season, tying his career-high three interceptions from last season.
• Jake Kasser finished with 13 tackles, including nine solos, while LeRico Mathis finished with 12 tackles, including 10 solos. The 13 tackles is a career best for Kasser, as was the nine solo tackles. The 12 tackles was also a career-high for Mathis, as was his 10 solo tackles.
• The 13 points kicking by Matt Reagan is a career-high for the sophomore from Knoxville, Tenn.
• The Tigers tallied 563 yards of total offense marking the second time this season Memphis has gone over 500 yards. This total ranks ninth all-time in a single game. Memphis' 265 yards rushing is a high for the season. Memphis' previous high for the year was the 247 yards versus Rice.
• The Tigers are now 6-5 on the year and are bowl eligible for the fourth time in the last five years.
• The 25-9 win over UAB marked the first time in eight meetings that the Tigers have defeated the Blazers. The only other win that Memphis has over UAB at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium was during the 1997 season.
