• Captains for Memphis were seniors Andy Smith and Quinton McCrary and honorary captain Taylor Bradford.
• A moment of silence recognized junior defensive lineman Taylor Bradford prior to the game. U of M students released balloons after the moment of silence.
• Junior Will Hudgens got his first start at quarterback this season when he opened the game under center in place of Martin Hankins who was injured in the Arkansas State game last Thursday. Hudgens started two games in 2005 when Patrick Byrne was injured in the season opener and then suffered a season-ending injury in his second game as the starter (vs. Tulsa).
• Sophomore receiver Duke Calhoun caught a 30-yard pass from Will Hudgens on the second play of the game to extend his receiving streak to 16 games. The 30-yard reception was a long for the wideout this season. Calhoun ended the game with six catches for 74 yards.
• Sophomore kicker Matt Reagan put the first points on the board for the Tigers when he booted a 25-yard field goal with 12:48 left in the first quarter. Reagan hit a 26 yarder with 7:19 left in the first quarter and added a 30-yard FG with four seconds remaining in the first half. Reagan ended the day 3-for-3 on FGs and 1-for-1 on PATs.
• LeRico Mathis registered his first career interception when he picked off Bernard Morris at the Memphis 46-yard line in the first quarter. Mathis started his first career game tonight.
• Junior receiver Earnest Williams caught four passes for 47 yards to extend his receiving streak to 10 games.
• Sophomore receiver Carlos Singleton hauled in a 19-yard touchdown pass from Will Hudgens with 6:52 remaining in the third quarter. It was Singleton's second TD catch of the year and the fourth of his career. The reception also advanced Singleton's receiving streak to 13 games. Singleton was also the recipient of the pass from Hudgens for the two-point conversion. It was the second successful two-point conversion for the Tigers this season.
• Quinton McCrary was credited with a fumble recovery in the third quarter for his fifth fumble recovery of the season. His five recoveries this year ties Van Anderson (1974) for most fumble recoveries in a single season. The Tigers scored a touchdown on their next drive as a result of the turnover.
• The Tigers have forced at least one turnover in each of the last seven straight games. Tonight, Memphis forced one fumble and one interception. The Tigers have not turned the ball over in the last three straight games.
• Will Hudgens recorded career highs tonight in yardage (346), completions (30), attempts (45), TD passes (2). Hudgens' 346 yards ranks seventh in the Tiger record book for passing yards in a game. Hudgens' 30 completions ranks fourth all-time in single game completions.
• Greg Hinds caught a four-yard reception for a touchdown with 14:55 left in the fourth quarter for his second TD catch of the season.
• T.J. Pitts rushed 14 times for 52 yards with both being career highs for the sophomore back. Pitts' previous high were 11 carries and 52 yards earlier this season against Jacksonville State.
• The Tigers rolled off 445 yards of total offense for the third time this season over 400 yards.
