WEST POINT, N.Y. - The University of Memphis rifle team wrapped up a two-game road trip with a 4661-4524 loss to Army, Tuesday.
The Tigers fell 23 points shy in the air rifle portion of the competition, despite a pair of 583's from Jessica Jasis and Andrew Hahn. For the second time in as many days, Brian Phillips led the team in the smallbore event, notching a team-best 561. In the smallbore event, freshman Keegan Singleton led the team with a 197 in the prone part of the scoring trifecta, while Jasis led the team in the standing portion with a 183. Phillips posted a team-best 190 in the kneeling position to round out the scoring.
Keegan again led the team in scoring in the prone portion of the air rifle event, scoring a 197. Hahn led the team with a 195 in the standing position and Jasis led the team with a 196 in the kneeling position.
The rifle team will next compete on another two-day road trip, this one through Alabama. The Tigers will compete in the Birmingham Southern College Panther Open on Nov. 18th, followed by the Jacksonville State Open on the 19th to round out the fall schedule.
