CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Led by juniors Christina Wieser and Alex Tjioe, the Lady Tiger tennis team claimed two titles on the final day of the UTC Baras Classic, Sunday.
Wieser used a third set tiebreaker to secure her B Singles consolation title, downing Ieva Balcus from Western Kentucky, 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (7) to pick up her first tournament win of the year. Her fellow classmate, Tjioe, used a straight set, 6-3, 6-3 decision to claim her first title of the year, defeating Ilze Rozentale, also from Western Kentucky, for the C Singles consolation crown.
Memphis will next participate in the Alabama/Roberta Allison Invitational, Oct. 7-9th in Tuscaloosa.
