Men's Cross Country Finishes Third at Vanderbilt

MEMPHIS , Tenn. - Led by a third-place individual finish from Balazs Laszlo and four top-20 finishes overall, the Memphis men's cross country team finished an impressive third out of nine teams at the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic, Saturday.
Laszlo, who won his only other race this season, finished third out of 143 individual runners with a time of 26:40.32. Hugh Ferry finished 14th overall, but was scored in 11th place among Division I runners with a time of 27:40.26. Travis Pressler, a transfer from SIU-Carbondale, was scored 13th overall with a time of 27:53.66 while Ryan Smith rounded out the top 20-finishes among Division I runners with a 19th place finish in 28:34.59.
Jeff Doudrick also competed for the Tigers, finishing 33rd among Division I runners and 62nd overall, with a time of 29:55.44.
The Tigers compete at the Iona Invitational in New York City next weekend.
