Rifle Squad Places Second in Tiger Open

MEMPHIS, TENN. - The Tiger rifle team finished second and third in its most recent meets at the Tiger Open and at Ole Miss.
The Tigers came out second in the Tiger Open with a score of 1460 just behind Ole Miss which posted a score of 1487. Charles Moss led the Tigers and garnered the individual title with a score of 380. Jessie Griggs placed 12th in the event with a score of 364, followed by Sam Culbreath and Jon Vaughn and who posted scores of 362 and 354, respectively.
Birmingham Southern placed third in the meet with a score of 1456, followed by TCU's Purple squad (1453), Arkansas (1398), TCU's White squad (1263) and UAB (1165).
In the Ole Miss meeting, Memphis placed third with a score of 1461, led by Moss' effort of 377. Ole Miss won the tournament with a score of 1488, followed by Birmingham Southern's team total of 1465. Moss placed fourth in the event behind BSC's Sarah Hibbard (386) and Ole Miss shooters Misty Ballard (379) and Maranda Stockton (379). Memphis' Jon Vaughn also placed in the top 10 with a score of 376.
