COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Memphis women's soccer dropped a 1-0 non-conference decision to Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tenn., Tuesday afternoon.
After the Lady Tigers controlled most of the scoreless first half against the Golden Eagles, Tennessee Tech freshman Christi Lopez netted her second career game winning goal early in the second period.
The tally came after Memphis keeper Katarina Wicksell deflected a shot from Golden Eagle forward Robyn Vince. Lopez collected the ball and played it into the net at the 57:44 mark.
Junior forward Ali Baker led the Memphis attack, firing seven shots before being tagged with a red card in the second half.
The loss drops Memphis' record to 3-8-1 (1-3, C-USA) and marks its second three-game losing streak of the season. The Lady Tigers play host to Southern Miss on Friday at Echles Field at 7 p.m.
