MEMPHIS, TENN. - RIP SCHERER QUOTES:
"There is not a whole lot to say. This has got to be as tough a loss, to lose three in a row like that. It was a gut wrenching loss and hurts a lot of people. There are a lot of broken-hearted players in the locker room. And none are more broken-hearted than No. 12 (Scott Scherer). You have got to give Cincinnati credit. They could have buckled and they didn't. We had a chance to put them away in the first half but we didn't and they didn't. We have got one game left and we are going to keep fighting. I know these guys are going to be ready. We will come back next week and play hard. This team has a lot of character."
* TWENTY SENIORS PLAY FINAL GAME: The University of Memphis honored twenty seniors prior to today's game. The twenty, along with their parents, were walked to midfield and were presented a framed pictured from their career at Memphis. Included among the families were the parents of Kevin Luttrell, a Tiger signee who lost his life in a boating accident on the day he was to report to Memphis for football camp. The Luttrell's were given the game jersey that Kevin would have worn as a Tiger.
* SANDERS HAS LONG RUN: Tailback Sugar Sanders' 52 yard run in the first quarter of today's game was the second longest play of the season for the Tigers. The longest play of the season for Memphis is a 62 yard run by Sanders vs. Army.

Kendall entered the contest with 71 catches during his career. He hauled in a seven yard reception from Scott Scherer in the first quarter and an eight yarder from Scherer in the fourth period. His two catches ties him with Darrius Blevins for 10th on the career reception list.
* WHITE CONTINUES TO BE SCORING LEADER: Junior Ryan White booted his 12th field goal of the season in the second quarter of the Cincinnati game. The kicker has made his last four attempts and is 12 X 18 on the season. Of his six misses, five have been blocks. The Lilburn, GA, native has now made 41 career field goals and is ranked third on the Tiger career list.
* SANDERS BREAKS THE 100 YARD MARK: Sophomore tailback Sugar Sanders had his second 100-yard rushing performance of the season against Cincinnati. Sanders had 132 yards rushing vs. East Carolina.
