Rifle Squad Wins Three Over the Weekend

MEMPHIS, TENN. - The University of Memphis rifle team defeated Jacksonville State, UAB and UT-Martin over the weekend.
The Tigers defeated Jaskonville State, which was ranked seventh in the country last year, for the first time in the program's history. The U of M defeated JSU, 1495 - 1470 on Saturday. Charles Moss was the high shooter for Memphis, posting a score of 381. Moss was followed by John Carter (377), Hateisha Williamson (371) and Brooke Cooper who shot a 366. The high shooter for JSU was Kelly Dove with a mark of 382. Memphis also defeated UAB on Saturday, 1495-1252.
On Sunday, Memphis recorded anoth major victory, defeating UT-Martin, which was ranked as high as eighth nationally last season. Memphis defeated UT-Martin, 1505-1487. Moss led Memphis in the victory again, shooting a 384. Carter totaled a 382, followed by Williamson's 371 and Cooper's round of 368. Matt Fetterman was the high shooter for UT-Martin with a score of 387.
The Tiger rifle team will be in action next on Nov. 18 at the Wolfcreek Invitational in Atlanta.
