Dr. Thomas Phillips joined the Memphis Athletic Department in 2023 as an Athletic Academic Advisor working with football.

Prior to coming to Memphis, Phillips most recently served as the Director of Student-Athlete Success Services at the Citadel in Charleston, S.C. Additionally, Phillips has worked within academic services for athletics at Clemson University and the University of North Texas. He also has worked in various roles at Clemson, Wofford College and North Greenville University.

Phillips holds three degrees from North Greenville University, earning a bachelor's degree in sport management in 2013, a Master of Business Administration in 2016 and a Doctor in Education in Higher Education Leadership in 2019. He has also been a member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) since 2018.

He currently resides in Memphis with his wife, Regan, daughter and dogs.
