Wiard joined the Memphis Athletic Department in August 2026 as the associate director of athletic academic advising for football. In her role, she advises student-athletes on the defensive side of the ball, monitors academic progress and NCAA eligibility, assists with course and majors selection and supports student-athletes working toward degree completion.

Prior to Memphis, Sarah served as an academic coordinator with the NC State football program, where she advised incoming freshmen and defensive backs. Prior to that, she was an associate director for academic services at Grambling State and a student-athlete success coordinator at Louisiana Tech. Her collegiate career began as a graduate assistant in student-athlete academic support services at Canisius.

A native of San Dimas, California, Wiard earned a Bachelor of General Studies in Political Science and American Studies, with minors in Sociology and Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies from the University of Kansas. Wiard also served as a student manager with the Jayhawk volleyball program. She earned a Master of Science in Higher Education and Student Affaird Administration from Canisius, along with a Graduate Certificate in Sociology from Appalachian State.
