Arevalo joined the Memphis Softball program in August 2024 after spending the last two seasons alongside Trena Prater as the pitching coach for Campbell University, where she built one of the top pitching staffs in the country.
Memphis' 2026 season in the circle saw Coach Arevalo develop a trio of arms in redshirt sophomore Mya Clark and freshmen Avery Stutts and Taylor Caton. Stutts shined as the program's ace under Arevalo's guidance, leading the team in wins, ERA, innings pitched, complete games and strikeouts. Clark, an Iowa transfer, earned an American Conference First Team nod as a two-way player, with her top performance in the circle coming in a complete game shutout against North Texas, the program's first shutout in conference play since 2021. Caton also filled a role as a two-way player, striking out 43 batters over 55.2 innings, including a season-high eight against East Carolina.
Stutts also became the first Tiger since 2018 to be named American Conference Pitcher of the Week after securing a save in Memphis' series win over North Texas.Â
In her first season working with the Memphis pitching staff, the Tigers team ERA dropped by 1.27, with three pitchers (Rylee Dugar, Lyrical Bennett, Taniyah Brown) each having a lower ERA than the team's best individual ERA from the previous year. The total amount of walks issued by Memphis pitchers dropped by 51, along with the Tigers allowing 21 less doubles under Arevalo's tutelage. The season in the circle was highlighted by Rylee Dugar tossing the program's 14th no-hitter against Mississippi Valley State on Feb. 18, 2025.Â
Her arsenal combined for 37 wins in 2024 and helped guide the Camels to a regular season crown while ranking 10th in the nation in shutouts (15) and 15th in team ERA (2.09).
Â
Arevalo also developed one of the top hurlers in the country in Isabella Smith. The right-hander earned back-to-back conference Pitcher of the Year honors as a member of the Big South Conference in 2023 and the Coastal Athletic Association in 2024. In her two seasons under Arevalo, Smith went 55-19 overall in the circle with a 1.83 ERA and 479 strikeouts across 447.1 innings while tossing 37 complete games and 11 shutouts.Â
Prior to arriving at Campbell, Arevalo spent the previous season as the pitching coach for the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) softball program. During her tenure in Arlington, Arevalo helped guide freshman pitcher Jessica Adams to wins over Baylor and top-10 ranked Oklahoma State. Adams went on to earn third team All-Region honors with Arevalo's guidance.
Â
Before joining UTA, Arevalo served as a volunteer assistant coach with Oklahoma from 2020-21. With the Sooners she assisted in helping the team win the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles and eventually the NCAA National Championship.
Â
Her coaching background also includes stops as an assistant coach at Indiana State (2017-20) and Samford (2015-17). She helped Samford to SoCon regular season and tournament titles in 2016, helping earn the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance. She also coached senior pitcher Mollie Hanson who earned SoCon pitcher of the year honors, Most Outstanding Player of the SoCon Tournament and third team All-Region honors.
Â
Arevalo played collegiate softball at the University of Georgia, helping the Bulldogs to back-to-back Women's College World Series berths in 2009 and 2010 and four NCAA Super Regional appearances. She was named a third team NFCA All-American as a pitcher following her final collegiate season in 2012.
Â
She graduated from UGA with a B.S. in psychology in 2013.
Â
A native of Lathrop, California, Arevalo played professional softball for the Akron Racers of the National Pro Fastpitch League for two seasons (2012-2013).
