Daniel Carson

Daniel Carson joined the Memphis Athletic Department in January 2023 as the Coordinator of Athletic Facilities and Events.Â
In his current role, Carson serves as the game administrator for Memphis' women's basketball, men's soccer, women's soccer and baseball programs. Additionally, he also oversees the athletic facilities for those sports.Â
Prior to coming to Memphis, Carson was a graduate assistant within the athletic events department at Illinois State University. While with the Redbirds, Carson was responsible for oversight of events and facilities for the baseball, softball, gymnastics, volleyball and women's basketball programs.Â
Carson also worked for the Town of Arlington for two years as the Parks and Recreation Director, where he managed over 250 acres of park land, as well as four parks, an athletic complex and a fishing lake.Â
Before working for Arlington, Carson spent just under six years as the Assistant Parks and Recreation Director with the City of Hernando, overseeing daily operations including 180 acres of recreational space, 1,200 youth sports participants and four athletic complexes.Â
He also spent six years as the Senior Sports Director at the Olive Branch Family YMCA, managing 12 youth and adult athletic leagues for the facility.Â
Carson holds both a Bachelor of Eduation in Sports Commerce and Master's of Education in Sports and Leisure from the University of Memphis, as well as a Master's of Education in Sports Management from Illinois State University.Â
Back in 2006, Carson once played basketball with LeBron James in a friend's driveway in Olive Branch, Mississippi.Â
Carson resides in Memphis with his wife, Morgan, and has a daughter, Kennedi.Â
