Axel Halvarson joined Memphis Athletics in January 2025 as the Assistant Director, Marketing and Game Presentations overseeing and implementing the creation of marketing plans for the baseball and women’s soccer teams.

Along with his game day responsibilities, Halvarson collaborates on marketing plans, assists with operations for all Memphis sports and coordinates email and digital communication for marketing initiatives across the department.
Â
Prior to coming to Memphis, Halvarson was in Long Island, New York working at Stony Brook University where he helped to enhance the game day environment for all Stony Brook events, lead marketing plans, oversaw email communication, game day staff and ran the social media pages for the Seawolves.

Before his move to the northeast, Halvarson spent six years at Bellarmine University, starting as an undergraduate student intern and working his way up to Assistant Director of Communication, Social & Digital Media. During his tenure with the Knights, Halvarson did everything from managing 20+ social media pages for teams, create graphic packages, videos and marketing initiatives for teams and developing run of shows at premiere events and assistant with broadcasting.

Halvarson, a Louisville, Ky. Native, is a 2020 graduate from Bellarmine University with a degree in Sports Administration. He earned his Master’s in Communication from Bellarmine in 2022.
