Roberts has promoted the women's soccer program through two championship seasons in 2024 and 2025. The 2025 team reached as high as No. 3 in both national polls, finishing the year 17-1-3 and putting 12 student-athletes on the All-Conference teams. He also helped publicize Tilly Boler, women's basketball's first All-Conference First Team member since 2013 and the first WNBA signee since 2016. The program also hosted its first nationally televised games since 2019 in December 2024 against No. 18 Tennessee and Louisville.
Roberts came to Memphis after two years graduating from the University of Tennessee with a master's degree in public relations. He worked in the strategic communications department of Tennessee Athletics, serving as the primary contact for the women’s golf program and as a feature writer for the men’s basketball team through their runs to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in 2023 and Elite Eight in 2024.
Prior to his time in Knoxville, Roberts was a student worker in LSU’s sports information office, serving as interim media contact for the track and field program covering the men's national title defense in 2022 and former student-athlete Mondo Duplantis' breaking of the pole vault world record at the World Athletics Championships in July 2022. He also worked extensively with women’s soccer, volleyball and softball as a writer and communications assistant.
A native of Gautier, Mississippi, Roberts graduated from LSU in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in sport administration.
