2011 Outdoor
Competed in three different events (shot put, hammer throw and discus) at six meets, as well as the shot put only at two more... Finished in the top-five on four occasions... Finished fifth at the Rhodes Open in the discus with a 45.82m (150' 4") toss that stood as his best for the season... Was also third in the shot put at Rhodes, with a 15.04m (49' 4.25") throw... Put up his personal-best 50.51m (165' 8") hammer throw mark at the SEMO Invite, finishing seventh... His personal-best 16.40m (53' 9.75") shot put at the LSU Relays placed him fifth at that meet, and placed him 23rd in the country among freshmen at the end of the season...Wrapped up the season as one of three Tigers to represent Memphis at the USA Junior National Championships.
2011 Indoor
Runner-up at the EIU Mega Meet in the shot put with a 15.47m (50' 9.25") toss... Put up his personal-best in the shot put at the SEMO Invite, with a 15.96m (52' 4.50") mark... At his first C-USA Indoor Championships, was seventh in the weight throw with a personal-best 17.67m (57' 11.75") throw.
Prior to Memphis
5-A State Champion in Georgia in the discus while representing Dacula High School, which finished third as a team in 2010...was also an all-county defensive end for the Falcons.
Personal
Son of Hoyt and Mary Mahaley...father is an FBI Agent...plans to major in mechanical engineering...chose the University of Memphis because his mother is a proud Tiger alumnus.
