Ryan Huber joined the University of Memphis baseball program as a volunteer assistant coach and camps coordinator in the summer of 2019. Huber, who spent the previous two seasons at Southwest Tennessee Community College, primarily coaches the Tigers' infielders.
Huber came to Memphis after two seasons as an assistant coach at Southwest Tennessee Community College. Huber joined Schoenrock’s staff as a second stint after serving as an instructor for the Tigers in 2017. Prior to Memphis, Huber coached Dulins Dodgers (2014-17) and was also an associate scout for the St. Louis Cardinals.Â
A Newark, Ohio native, Huber played for Kyle Waters at Newark High School, where he graduated in 2009. Huber continued his playing career at Motlow State Community College from 2010-12 for coach Dan McShea and then at Freed Hardeman University from 2012-13 for coach Jonathan Estes. Huber capped his playing at Bethel University from 2013-14 for coach Rusty Thompson.
While at Freed Hardeman, Huber was named an All-Conference third baseman and received the conference’s Gold Glove award. He also made the All-Conference team as a shortstop as a senior at Bethel. In addition, he played for the Licking County Settlers in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, leading the Settlers to championships both summers and making the All-League team as a third baseman in 2013.
Huber and his wife, Paige, reside in Memphis.Â
