Conner Porter

Former Memphis pitcher Conner Porter has returned to join head coach Daron Schoenrock’s staff as a student assistant for the 2016 season. The right-hander pitched in 2013 and 2014 for the Tigers.
After going undrafted, Porter played professional baseball in the independent leagues. He was a member of the Normal CornBelters in 2014.
Porter made 15 appearances on the mound for Memphis in 2013 and posted a 1-1 record with two saves and a 3.38 ERA. He struck out 22 batters in 26 2/3 innings pitched with just seven walks.
For his career, the Newburgh, Ind., native, had a 4.43 ERA in 29 appearances. He tossed 42 2/3 innings and struck out 30.
Prior to joining Memphis, Porter pitched at Olney Central Junior College.
