14 Conference Championships
Since Brooks Monaghan took over the program in 2000, he’s taken Memphis women's soccer to new heights. In 2007, Memphis topped the C-USA standings with a 17-4-1 record and 7-1-1 in the conference. The Tigers then went on to win its first conference tournament, en route to earning the program’s first NCAA Women’s College Cup bid.
The success of the 2007 season started a string of dominance over the next five seasons. The Tigers won every conference tournament from 2007-2011, giving up just five total goals in the tournaments, and finished first in the regular season in three of those five years. The Tigers capped of their dominating streak in C-USA with a 22-1-1 record in 2011, yielding both regular-season and conference championship titles.
Monaghan transitioned that success to the American Athletic Conference. In 2018, Memphis captured the AAC Conference Tournament title. One year later, the Tigers posted a 8-0-1 mark in league play to earn the conference regular-season championship.
The Tigers would be crowned champions once again when they were named AAC Tournament Champions after a 0-0 draw (3-0 PKs) over South Florida. Memphis would go on to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after a dominating 3-0 win over LSU in the opening round. The Tigers would go back-to-back as AAC Tournament Champions in 2022 to earn their fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
The 2023 season proved to be another successful season for Monaghan and the Tigers; following a perfect 9-0 spot in AAC play allowing just one goal in route to a West Division Championship, Memphis would go on to claim its third consecutive American Athletic Conference Championship - the first team in AAC history to win in it in three consecutive seasons.
