Hello everyone, it's All-Star time in baseball throughout the country and the Tigers are represented well.
Drew Martinez (CBHS) was named the Valley League North All Star MVP, despite a 1-0 loss to the South. Heath Hatfield (Bartlett) also pitched a scoreless inning for the North with a strikeout. Brach Davis started for Team NECBL against the US Military team on July 5th and will participate the NECBL All-Star game this Saturday.
Make sure you tune into ESPN2 on Wednesday night, former Tiger SS Brent Dlugach is a Triple-A All-Star. Brent is with Toledo of the International League. Brent's father, Mike, still holds the "Iron Man" record for Memphis playing in 149 consecutive games from 1970-1973.
Finally, Memphian Matt Cain, who signed with Memphis but went pro after being drafted 25th overall, will represent the National League in Tuesday's Major League All Star Game.
