Castro Fabra Earns American Conference Player of the Week Honors

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis men's tennis player Marcos Castro Fabra was named American Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
The freshman from Madrid, Spain, went 3-1 over the weekend, picking up a massive line one doubles win at Ole Miss with his partner, Sam Reeve, over the No. 18 doubles pair in the nation. Castro Fabra also secured a 6-3, 6-3 victory at line three singles in Oxford. The Tigers returned home to face Indiana on Sunday, where Castro Fabra moved up to line two singles and claimed a crucial point, putting the Tigers up 3-2, with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 win.
Castro Fabra has been big for Memphis all season, boasting a perfect 7-0 record in singles, with wins at lines two, three, four and five, and an overall record of 13-3. In doubles, Castro Fabra/Reeve are ranked No. 87 in the latest ITA rankings.
