Tigers Suffer First Defeat in Battle with Nebraska

Lincoln, Neb. – The University of Memphis men's tennis team fell to Nebraska in a close 3-4 contest at the Sid and Hazel Tennis Center in Lincoln, Nebraska at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Sam Reeve/Marcos Castro Fabra got the match started, winning their fifth doubles match of the season 6-3. The 58^th ranked pairing of Moritz Kudernatsch/Maxime Dubouch put the Tigers on the board with a 6-3 win of their own. Tiger duo Obrad Markovski/Marko Milosavljevic were in a close 4-4 contest that was left unfinished.

In singles, junior Maxime Dubouch and freshman Marcos Castro Fabra claimed points for the Tigers with 6-3, 6-2 and 6-4, 6-3 wins respectively. Sam Reeve fell on court four 2-6, 4-6 as Nebraska claimed their first point. The remaining matches all went to third sets where the Tigers dropped all three.

Memphis moves to 4-1 and will be back home Friday, Jan. 30 against LSU. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Leftwich Tennis Center. Admission to the match is free.
