
Lavin Tabbed American Conference Defensive Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas – Memphis defender Finley Lavin was named the American Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Lavin, the reigning Defender of the Year in the conference, was honored on the back of two consecutive clean sheets against No. 2 Tennessee and UT Martin. The Tiger defense has allowed just three goals this season, including one in the last five games.
It marks the second weekly honor of the season for Lavin, a junior from Jarrettsville, Maryland. She has contributed to five shutouts in 2025 and 26 across her three years in Memphis.
Lavin and the No. 14 Tigers will travel to North Carolina to take on Charlotte this Thursday, September 11, at 6:00 p.m. CT.
