American Conference Names Three Tigers to Weekly Awards List

IRVING, Texas – No. 11 Memphis women's soccer collected three American Conference weekly awards on Monday afternoon, as Ashley Henderson won Offensive Player of the Week, Abby Kudla earned Goalkeeper of the Week and Mihiro Furuya was named Freshman of the Week.
The honors come following two Tiger wins against South Florida and No. 25 Rice. It now marks 11 weekly awards that Memphis has won this season.
Henderson brings home her first honor of the 2025 season thanks to two goals and assist last week. The 2024 All-Conference Second Team member has 17 goals and seven assists in her career.
Kudla collects her first Goalkeeper of the Week honor following two more clean sheets and six saves. Participating in seven of the eight Memphis clean sheets on the year, the sophomore is 14th in the nation with a goals-against average of 0.44.
Furuya, a freshman from Hiratsuka, Kanagawa, Japan, earned her nod from the conference after an assist against South Florida, her second of the year. She has played over 45 minutes in the last three games after doing so just once in the prior eight.
The Tigers (9-0-2, 3-0-1 American) will be back in action this Thursday, October 2, when they travel to Tulsa for a 7:00 p.m. conference battle.
