Wang Selected to Auburn Regional of NCAA Tournament

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis men's golf student-athlete Yixiang Wang has been selected to the Auburn Regional as a seven-seed for this year's NCAA Tournament.
Wang, a sophomore out of Dalian, China, competed in all 11 tournaments for Memphis while also playing in the Thunderbolt Invitational over the winter break. Finishing in the top 10 three times and in the top 20 seven times this year, Wang shot a career-best, 66, during the second round of the GMAC Invitational in September while bringing home a share of fourth place – his best to date.
He was most recently named to the American's All-Conference Team earlier this week after finishing one over par at the championship in Sarasota, Fla.
Wang will compete with nine other individuals and 13 teams at the Auburn University Club May 12-14. The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
