Lavin Named MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist
Dec 02, 2025 | Women's Soccer
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Memphis junior Finley Lavin was named a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist, United Soccer Coaches and Missouri Athletic Club announced Tuesday.
Lavin was one of four defenders and 15 total players named for the most coveted individual honor in NCAA Division I soccer.
The Jarrettsville, Maryland, native captained the 17-1-3 Tigers through a historic year. She played every minute in 17 of 21 matches, anchoring a Memphis backline that conceded six goals in the regular season and finished with a 0.66 goals-against average.
Lavin converted a penalty in a 1-0 win at Tulsa, her only goal of the season and third of her career. The twice-reigning American Conference Defender of the Year helped post 14 shutouts, tied for fourth-most in the nation and second-most in program history.
Three women's finalists will be named for the award on Wednesday, Dec. 10. The 2025 MAC Hermann Trophy banquet will be held at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on Jan. 9, 2026, to formally announce this year's winners.
