Women's Basketball Unveils 2024-25 Non-Conference Schedule
Sep 16, 2024 | Women's Basketball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis women's basketball head coach Alex Simmons announced the non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 season on Monday. The slate begins on Nov. 4 with a home match-up with Mississippi Valley State and includes three showdowns with Power 4 opponents.Â
"The priority for our schedule is preparation and pin-pointing teams who will prepare us for March," said Simmons, headed into her second year at the helm. "We are ready to get the season started with a schedule that will challenges us in ways that may be uncomfortable but also prepare us for the postseason. It will be key for this group of seniors to come together, lead as one and make sure we are staying focused on our team goals."
Â
After the season-opening duel with MVSU, the Tigers will travel to Starkville, Mississippi, to take on Mississippi State on Nov. 7. Memphis will then play three of their next four games at Elma Roane Fieldhouse, hosting Samford (Nov. 10), Saint Louis (Nov. 19) and Murray State (Nov. 23) to conclude the November slate, along with a road bout with Ball State (Nov. 13).Â
Â
After the Thanksgiving break, the Tigers will play three consecutive road contests, traveling to ETSU (Dec. 1), Southern Miss (Dec. 8) and Troy (Dec. 14). The non-conference schedule will culminate with two games at FedEx Forum, where Memphis will face Tennessee (Dec. 18) and Louisville (Dec. 21).Â
