MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Head women's basketball coach Alex Simmons has added another strong post presence to the roster for the upcoming 2024-25 season with the signing of Bailey Gilmore.
"We are overjoyed to have Bailey be part of our program. She is an extremely versatile player who will add rim protection and depth to our paint game," Simmons said. "She will also add flexibility to our offensive strategy. Bailey is a great athlete and even better person and will bring positive energy to our program and the city."
Gilmore, a 6-3 post player out of Midway, Ga., comes to Memphis after one season at Vanderbilt where she redshirted with the Commodores.
Prior to Nashville, Gilmore prepped at Bradwell Institute where she was named as a 2023 McDonald's All-American nominee and was a three-time All-Region honoree. During her senior season, Gilmore averaged 12.4 points and 9.1 rebounds while scoring in double figures on 13 occasions – including a career-high 17 points twice during her tenure.
The Bradwell Institute's Valedictorian marked seven double-doubles during her final year including a notable 15-point, 15 rebound performance. Along with her scoring abilities, Gilmore notched 15 double-digit rebound games in her final season.
