MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Head women's basketball coach Alex Simmons has added powerhouse transfer Elauna Eaton to the 2024-25 roster.
"We are excited to add Elauna to our program," Simmons said. "She brings size and a versatility to our offensive game that will be an enhancement to our team. Along with her abilities, she brings leadership and experience at a high level. Elauna has a high basketball IQ and will be a leader on and off the court."
Eaton, a Helena, Ark. native, comes to Memphis after two seasons at Ole Miss where she appeared in 50 games for the Rebels to help them to a 24-9 overall record and an NCAA Tournament Second Round appearance. During the 2023-24 season, Eaton poured in a season-high six points against Alcorn while pulling down four rebounds against her former team, Arkansas, in the team's regular season finale.
During her redshirt sophomore season, Eaton tied her career-high in points twice with 11 points against Kentucky and Texas A&M. She finished the season third on the team with 22 triples.
Prior to Ole Miss, Eaton spent two seasons at Arkansas (one as a redshirt season) where she played in 28 games while making two starts. The 6'0" guard reached double-figure scoring on three occasions and had a career-game with 15 points and seven boards against UAPB.
A standout at Nettleton High School, Eaton was dubbed as the Arkansas Democrat-Gazzette's Player of the Year following her senior season and earned a spot on the Naismith Trophy High School Girls Watch List. She was a two-time All-State performer and ranked as the No. 9 guard and the No. 41 player in the nation coming out of high school.
