MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis men's tennis coach Chris Doerr has added two new faces to his roster for the 2025-26 season in Marcos Castro Fabra and Jarrod Joyce.
Castro Fabra, a native of Madrid, Spain, comes to Memphis as the seventh best ranking junior player in Spain and while winning two World Junior Ranking titles. Castro Fabra was also in the top 60 in the Spanish Adult Ranking.
"We are excited to have Marcos in Memphis," Doerr said. "We watched him play this summer and loved the aggressive style; his forehand is going to bring a lot of excitement to Memphis and his tennis talent is something special we cannot wait to see how far we push him, so he achieves great things."
Joyce, an Australian native, comes to the Bluff City with a 223rd ranking in the World Juniors while ranking in the top 10 in Australian Juniors as a Junior Grand Slam participant. Joyce was the youngest Aussie to hold a world ranking after qualifying and winning his Main Draw match last season.
Joyce has competed in the Australian Junior Open.
"We are really excited about Jarrod. He has a big, dynamic serve and the ability to finish at the net. He is ultra-competitive, and I know he will flourish here in Memphis," Doerr said.
