Memphis Suffers First Conference Loss to South Florida, 1-0

Tampa, Fla. – Memphis men's soccer falls to South Florida by a score of 1-0 Friday night. This marks the first conference loss for the Tigers.
With the loss, Memphis moves to 6-6-2 (3-1-1) overall and the Bulls move to 5-3-4 (3-2-0).
The Tigers are currently in a tie for first place with Charlotte after the 49ers defeated Tulsa, but Memphis holds the head-to-head tiebreaker.

- 18' – The Bulls earned three corners in a row, but Memphis was able to quell each attack attempt, eventually earning a goal kick.
- 29' – Memphis wouldn't register its first shot until the 29th minute of the first half, but Anthony DiFalco had a near miss from a Jackson Kim pass after a throw-in from Logan Longo.
- 33' – South Florida claimed the first goal in the match, as Tyler Richardson beat Filip Sabatti for the first goal of the match.
- 72' – South Florida's Pedro Faife was assessed a red card for unsporting behavior with a foul on Anthony DiFalco. After review, the call was confirmed, and Memphis would play up a man to finish the match.
- 82' – DiFalco had another beautiful chance in front of the net, but a deflection on a low shot resulted in an easy save for Felix Schaefer.
- For the second match in a row, Memphis was outpaced in the statistic of corners. The Tigers did not attempt a single corner during the first 45 minutes, while South Florida attempted seven.
- Memphis played in a one-man advantage for the final 18:24 of the match, and the Tigers only mustered two shot attempts.
- For the first time this season, Memphis was not assessed a yellow card.
- As mentioned, Pedro Faife of South Florida was assessed a red card, and Marcelo Mondragon, along with Felix Schaefer, were both given yellow cards for time wasting.
