Simmons Adds Sallman to 2023-24 Roster

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Head Memphis women's basketball coach Alex Simmons has added another new face to the roster for the upcoming 2023-24 season in Jana Sallman.
Sallman, a 6-3 forward out of Egypt, comes to Memphis after a stint with the Egyptian National Team, by way of Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio. She would average a double-double of 14.7 points and 10 rebounds during the FIBA U18 African Women's Championship in 2022.
"Jana is a huge addition to our program, and we are excited about having her," said Simmons. "Jana brings experience on the international level, and she will bring a new dimension to our team after playing with the Egyptian Senior National Team and earning valuable time during the 2023 U19 World Cup. I am excited to see her growth in our program over the next four years."
While with Western Reserve Academy, Sallman averaged 11.1 points and just under 10 rebounds per game while picking up 2.8 blocks for the Pioneers.
